Aurora Hotel Collection has confirmed the group’s intention to press ahead with multi-million pound investment plans at Glenbervie House, near Larbert.
The Group had scaled down its original plans for the Glenbervie estate due to the current economic climate but, signalling its commitment to the area, has now submitted revised proposals. The new plans would see the development of a new 120-bedroom 4 Star Hotel & Spa, 12 luxury lodges houses, and 36 luxury apartments at Glenbervie.
Commenting on the plans, Founder & Chief Executive Steven McLeod said:
“We are really excited about this project and are confident that the local community and council will support the plans. For this development to work, however, we need permission for all elements included in our proposals or it simply won’t be financially viable and not justifiable in today’s economy.
“The first phase of work will involve the creation of twelve new lodge houses, in a similar style and quality to the existing Coach House, and the construction of two blocks of 18 luxury, very spacious “City Style” apartments. We plan to re-invest the revenue from the sale of the apartments to fund the new hotel. The hotel will offer unrivalled facilities, for both local residents and visitors to the area, and will feature 120-bedrooms, a leisure club & spa, restaurant & bar, meeting rooms and executive floor.
“When all elements are complete, we will have invested over £40m in this development which will boost the local economy, generate over 250 new jobs and create fantastic new amenities in the area. The award-winning Aurora Hotel Collection was established by Steven McLeod in 2004, and currently features Airth Castle Hotel, nr Stirling; Glenbervie House & The Coach House, Larbert, nr Falkirk; Solsgirth House, by Dollar; The Kenmore Hotel & Luxury Lodges, a traditional hotel and luxury lodges nestled on the banks of the River Tay; & the new 5-star Cairn Lodge & Hotel. The 5-star Hotel Colessio in Stirling will join the Collection when it opens in 2013.
