Centre Island Birmingham is reported to have acquired a site from Arena Central Developments for a new 14-storey, 210-bedroom Holiday Inn Express hotel. Planning permission has already been granted for a hotel on the site.
The Arena Central site is located opposite Centenary Square, and the new hotel will be positioned next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, also owned by Centre Island Birmingham.
Work on the hotel is expected to start in mid-2013, with the hotel opening in early 2015.
