Heron Plaza hotel to be sold?

By James Russell: Heron Plaza hotel to be sold?

October 23, 2012

Heron International has put the Four Seasons hotel development at the heart of its Heron Plaza – located 150m from Liverpool Street Station – up for sale, after receiving a number of enquiries for it.

Savills are reported to have been instructed to sell the proposed 43-storey tower for a price in the region of £105m.

The tower, which received planning consent in January last year and is due to open in 2015, contains a 190-bedroom Four Seasons hotel, 120 branded residences, plus restaurants, conference and banqueting facilities, events space, a gym and a spa.

Heron deputy chief executive Jonathan Goldstein said: “The Heron Plaza development is truly unique in the City of London, offering exceptional hotel, residential, meeting, leisure and events space in a high-quality tower right at the heart of the Square Mile.

“Following significant interest from a number of third parties, we have a duty to our investors to consider all possible options, including a sale or partnership, to maximise returns from this prime project.”

Heron is also developing an all-residential 36-storey tower, The Heron, next to the Barbican, EC2
