In a move to improve the outcomes of meetings and events held at Dunsley Hall Country House Hotel, a new ‘technology-free’ zone has been introduced by that allows conference organisers to help delegates focus on the topic in hand rather than allowing the distraction of the various devices now in general use in business.

“The ‘Technology Escape’ is more than just switching off mobile telephones and laptops, it is a return to a slower pace of meetings and conferences where the face-to-face interactions are more important than the technology available to stay ‘in touch’. From research amongst organisers using the hotel and planners making enquiries, we have detected that there is a demand for more meaningful outcomes at their events, and this is just one of a range of initiatives we are introducing to achieve this for our meetings and conference customers.“.
The hotel has not introduced a complete ban, allows delegates to bring their electronic devices, and does provide free Wi-Fi connectivity, but each event booked at the hotel is to be offered the option of the technology-free zone when booking.

“Research in the USA by Prof. Frank Partnoy has shown that removing technology helps people to be more patient, helps them to make better decisions, they are happier, more successful and have empathy and improve handling of social conflicts. We are in an ideal location to provide these outcomes.”
Dunsley Hall is a former Victorian villa, has 26 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms, three star accreditation, AA rosette quality restaurant and bar, meeting facilities for up to 120 delegates and has four acres of landscaped grounds. Nearby Ramsdale farm is also part of the hotel’s facilities for team building events.
