The Chaophraya group of restaurants has been slowly growing across the North of England since 2004, leading the way in Thai fine dining in the UK, and diversifying into a family of brands including ChaoBaby, Palm Sugar and Yee Rah.
Chaophraya focuses on Thai fine dining, ChaoBaby is a Thai banquet concept replicating the feel of a Bangkok street market, Yee Rah`s concept brings together a fusion of both Thai and European dishes in a casual dining environment, while Palm Sugar is the group’s high end cocktail bar concept.
Headquartered in Yorkshire, and with restaurants in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Birmingham and most recently Glasgow, Chaophraya has now secured £2.4 million to invest in a new restaurant in Edinburgh as well as the expansion of the Leeds restaurant, and a further site in 2013.
The first Chaophraya restaurant was opened in Leeds in 2004 by the company owners Martin Stead and Kim Kaewkraikhot. The group has since branched out with the “ChaoBaby” brand which is designed specifically for shopping centres. There are currently ChaoBaby restaurants in the Trafford Centre and in the Meadowhall shopping centre.
