McMullens have announced the purchase of The Britannia in Marlow for an undisclosed sum.
Peter Furness-Smith, Managing Director of McMullens, the Hertford brewer and pub company commented:
“We are delighted to have acquired our second outlet in the affluent town of Marlow. We plan to refurbish the building to create a warm, comfortable new pub with over 130 covers.”
Heydon Mizon McMullens Retail Operations Director outlined plans for the site:
“The pub will have a modern range of beers, an interesting wine list and our successful, excellent value Chicken & Grill pub menu. The Chicken & Grill concept was developed three years ago and has exceeded our expectations in all five sites where it has been operated. We are particularly pleased with the latest opening at the Jolly Farmers, where initial sales have exceeded our expectations to such an extent that we had to arrange for 3 additional dray deliveries in the first 2 weeks!”
