The Sunday roast is the most celebrated part of British food culture, and a constant source of interest. As demonstrated by the search for the Best British Roast Dinner winner featured in H & C News earlier this month (see link below).
Now, the Italian Restaurant at Novikov is also set to offer this traditional favourite, introducing formidable competition with the launch of its own take on the home-grown classic, and challenging to become the destination for the best roasts in the capital.
Novikov is offering the highest quality cuts sourced by Stratton Butchers in Leighton Buzzard to deliver a Sunday Roast ‘like no other’. Its huge wood and gas fired oven uses a mix of apple, olive and oak woods to add further intensity to the flavours of the specially sourced joints of meat.
Sunday roast offerings include rib of English beef, hand reared in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Bedfordshire (aged for a minimum of 24 days); leg of Texel lamb reared in Gloucestershire; or whole free range chicken from Holly Farm in Worcestershire.
And pescatarians are not forgotten: whole roast turbot or seabass (salt crusted or baked), fresh from the coast, are also readily available.
For a truly special celebration (and with 48 hours notice) they will lay on a veritable banquet: whole suckling pig or baby lamb, and from Sardinia, whole baby goat.
Prices for Novikov’s Sunday Roast start from £20.
