Motel One, the low budget design hotel brand, is next pursuing its UK expansion plans with a 330 bedroom hotel in Manchester for which planning permission has been granted.
The hotel will be built on the site of a well known nightclub at 34 London Road and 2 – 6 Whitworth Street, Manchester, M1 2PF: the site is owned by Olympian Homes, and will be leased by Motel One. Construction is scheduled to commence in January 2013
Motel One is currently represented in Germany and Austria with 39 hotels and 8,500 rooms, and has another 15 hotels with 6,000 rooms under construction in Edinburgh,
Brussels, Vienna, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Berlin.
By 2014, the ambition is to expand the network of locations to 60 hotels and around 13,500 rooms of which 2,500 rooms will be located outside Germany.
