Gary Neville, former captain of Manchester United and England Right-Back, will open The 2012 Annual Hotel Conference (AHC). The conference, which this year will be held on 3rd and 4th October at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, is titled Planning for Profit and anticipates being the biggest in its nine year history, and is the only event targeted at the UK’s independent and small chain hoteliers.

Speakers, moderators and panellists will share experience, knowledge and expertise on a variety of topics including driving sales, revenue management, harnessing new technologies, securing funding and making green initiatives pay.

Gary Neville recently secured permission to construct a 139-bedroom hotel near Old Trafford with plans to open for the 2014-15 season. He comments:

“I have put a lot of work into researching and understanding the hotel business. I am excited about engaging with the sector and look forward to speaking to delegates at The AHC, which is now firmly established as a must-attend event for the UK’s hoteliers.”

The AHC are also delighted to announce the opening plenary session on the 4th October which will be moderated by Chief Executive of the British Hospitality Association and long-standing supporter of The AHC, Ufi Ibrahim. Ms Ibrahim will quiz representatives from Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International and Accor in a hard-talking session titled The Big Picture – large hotel chains discuss how they’re addressing market challenges and share their views on what the future holds.

The AHC attracts delegates from across the UK and is supported by leading industry bodies and advisors including the BHA, Marketing Manchester, The Princes Trust and the Manchester Hoteliers Association, The international law firm Squire Sanders, industry leading consultants, TRI Hospitality Consulting and the real estate advisors Colliers International are the conference Patrons.
