£1bn Berkeley site ready for new 250 room hotel

By James Russell: £1bn Berkeley site ready for new 250 room hotel

May 23, 2012

Berkeley’s  Goodmans Field site in Aldgate, City of London,  has started preparation work for the £1bn mixed use development. Goodmans Field is located close to Canary Wharf, The Docklands and The South Bank, so ideal for a new hotel.

Berkeley will build four residential towers of up to 23-storeys on the site alongside a 251-room hotel, nearly 9,000 square metres of leisure and commercial space and a 17,778 square metre basement car park.

Award winning architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, together with Townshend Landscape Architects have ensured the highest quality design, architecture and landscaping as well as maximising the green public space.

Work started on site late last year on a £3.6m job to build the substructure podium for two of the towers.
