Maintenance Manager – Luxury Hotel in Hampshire – Salary £32K
Purpose of Role
To assume responsibility for the overall safety, efficiency and maintenance of engineering services within the Hotel. Maintenance and upkeep of property facility. The provision of technical assistance/advice to all departments.
Specific duties
- To ensure safe and efficient operation of engineering services within the Hotel; to include routine maintenance.
- To manage the engineering department which consists of maintenance, electrical and technical staff. To ensure that rotas are arranged to cover both shift and day duties.
- Perform daily inspection of Hotel facilities both front and back of house and liaison with Heads of Department over maintenance requests from outlets.
- Maintain accurate records of all plant maintenance and ensure that all maintenance contracts are kept in order and up to date. Maintain adequate spare part stocks.
- Introduce and implement a progressive energy saving programme.
- Ensure that any works carried out comply with relevant statutory regulations.
- Prepare specification and tender/contract documents for contractual works.
- Ensure temperature and humidity conditions are acceptable in all areas by spot checks and routine monitoring.
- Implement a planned preventive maintenance programme with regular inspection and updating of records.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operation and power consumption.
- Prepare annual budget for repair and maintenance works.
- In conjunction with the Executive Assistant Manager to conduct training programmes regarding industrial safety and fire prevention.
- To lead the Health & Safety Committee at least once a month and to address any issues that may arise.
- To champion the Green/Sustainability committee once a month and implement initiatives.
- To ensure that monthly departmental meetings are being held and documented.
- To actively manage the Maintenance team and liaise routinely with all key departments in the hotel.
- Be in charge of Fire safety and training with all HoD’s and the hotel team – do routine fire evacuations.
