Plusfood UK is delighted to have lent its support to a world ‘first’, providing its NEW Alyn Valley premium quality chicken breast for a menu at pop-up restaurant “N’Ice” – a unique gourmet restaurant serving only frozen food!
Created on behalf of the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) and situated at the award-winning Westminster Kingsway College in the heart of London, N’Ice opened for one week only and presented diners with a fine dining menu prepared entirely from frozen food.
Supported by the likes of Atul Kochhar and Simon Rimmer – both of whom developed signature dishes for the occasion – chef lecturers from the College designed an impressive menu, which allowed N’Ice to successfully challenge the image of frozen food, helping prove that frozen products really can deliver the same quality and taste as fresh.
Plusfood’s Alyn Valley chicken breast was used to create a delicious main course of roast chicken breast with Moroccan spices, which was served with chicken ballotine stuffed with dates and a deliciously spiced cous cous, drizzled with harissa sauce.
“Generally speaking, the quality of frozen food has improved significantly over the past few years, and it’s great to be involved with initiatives which help boost the image and perception of frozen products. Consumers regularly purchase frozen food items to enjoy at home, and it’s important to highlight the product benefits and taste to caterers so that frozen food can be enjoyed just as much out of home too. N’Ice offered a gourmet eating experience which demonstrated the overall premium appeal of the vast array of frozen foods available today including poultry, proving that frozen really is just as good as fresh – and in some cases, better!”
