The Navigation Inn, Shardlow, Derbyshire, Ian the Owner and Chef and Jimmy the head chef, always provide great food with fabulous sauces.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for these guys, just ask.
My favourite dish here is the very large Tarragon, Salmon fishcake, which is served in its own prawn sauce. A slightly rich, full bodied sauce with lots of succulent, juicy prawns.
Accompanied by a chopped tomato concasse, in a sweet balsamic, tomato dressing, really superb.
I never normally eat chips, unless I am visiting The Navigation!
Always prepared and home cooked, chunky and piping hot to the core, with just the right amount of crispness and colour. Even better when dipped in Hellmanns mayonnaise.
A small menu of quality dishes, I highly recommend visiting.
Perhaps it helps that Ian has cooked for the Queen before!
