What a find! The Crown in Burchetts Green SL6 6QZ. Simple food, comfortable service in an informal environment with a slight country French air.
We had the bargain lunch menu 2 courses for £12. My wife and I shared the chicken livers and lardon on lightly dressed leaves followed by the under-rated and not often UK seen ‘onglet’ cut of beef with real chips and a side sauce of creme fraiche horseradish.
The simplicity was its delight – the right amount for lunch – freshly cooked and frankly great value for money.
The dessert was shared – a chocolate brownie with home-made ice cream – excellent also. The home made bread is not to be missed either.
Can’t wait until we try the full a la carte!
