The Doyle Bloomsbury hosts HACCC draw, face off revealed

By James Russell: The Doyle Bloomsbury hosts HACCC draw, face off revealed

July 2, 2011

The draw for who will face who in the HACCC Festival, the hospitality industry’s largest charity football tournament, on Sunday 18 September 2011 took place at the Doyle Bloomsbury Hotel last Thursday evening. Representatives from the teams, as well as all three sponsors, PJ Search, The Sleep Event, Hospitality and Catering News, the events chosen charity Springboard and PR agency Luxe PR who are promoting the event were all present.

After drinks and nibbles and 30 mins of chatting the guests were invited to sit down and see who would be playing who. Paul Gilley from PJ Search, the organisers and main sponsors of the festival welcomed everyone and explained the structure of the draw. Eight groups would each have six teams who would all play each other to progress to one of three knock out cup competitions. Each group would have one top seeded team who had played in the HACCC league last season. Each cup competition has a sponsor, namely PJ Search, The Sleep Event and Hospitality and Catering News.

The knock out stage will comprise a quarter final, sem final and a cup final producing the winner.

Quite a few interesting draws here, not least in Group A, where last years winners face what we are led to believe is a very competitive team from Gordon Ramsay Holdings. There was some speculation and rumour later on in the evening that we all might just recognise one of the players from Gordon Ramsay Holdings, but that might be just gossip, we will see.

The day itself will be held at Chiswick in West London, down by the river and will feature a funfair, plenty of food and drink and EMI are organising four new acts they believe are ones to watch for the future in a live gig.

So loads of fun for all the family and thousands are expected to attend. If you are interested in attending visit the HACCC facebook page for full details
