Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole is in the headlines again but for all the right reasons this time. He is going into business with long term idol, US rap star Jay-Z. The pair announced plans to open a new London restaurant and bar next year.
NVA Entertainment Group, who manage football, music, film and fashion stars engineered the deal. NVA was started in 2005 and now selectively only manage ten names, or brands as they see it. The deal will see Cole and Jay-Z work together on a number of new ventures, the London restaurant being the first developed through this new partnership.
The London project aims to provide job opportunities for young people who have been long term unemployed. It will also provide a percentage of monthly profits to local youth charities in deprived areas for music, sport and arts projects.
Three sites are being considered currently and from this a final decision is expected late summer. The chef at the chosen location will be a name that will be recognised, what else would you expect.
Cole commented, “the projects we do will be delivering much needed funds back into sport and music on a local community level as well as helping talented young people get back to work.”
