Gordon Ramsay Holdings has posted a return to profit, but spending patterns at his restaurants point to consumers tightening their belts. Profits in 2010 were just over £2m in the year to Aug 2010 a significant rise from £567,000 in 2009.
Turnover is quite sharply down at his Claridge’s hotel restaurant and average spend per customer at his maze restaurant is down too.
The fall out following the monumental bust up with his father in law and ex business partner Chris Hutcheson may impact further on accounts next year.
Cost cutting has been implemented across the business with Gordon Ramsay leading the way and taking no salary during the year. The business paid out £2m less in salary costs by trimming some staff.
