Pentillie Castle announces summer Pop-Up restaurant with ‘Great British Menu’.
Top Westcountry chef Philip Burgess joins forces with rising talent John Hooker to offer unique fine dining experience, 15 and 16 July 2011.
Under the watchful eye of Philip Burgess, of the acclaimed Dartmoor Inn at Lydford, the pans will be wielded by his former apprentice – Runner-up of The Great British Menu 2010 and new head chef at Lewtrenchard Manor – John Hooker.
A ‘pop-up’ restaurant opens in a unique and memorable location for a strictly limited period and then disappears. For the weekend of 15thand 16thJuly 2011, Pentillie Castle will be transformed into a small and intimate restaurant seating 56 guests.
Tables will be situated throughout the reception rooms of the Castle, and if the weather allows, the terraces will host a spectacular outdoor bar for pre-dinner drinks and canapés.
John and Philip have pooled their experience and links to local suppliers, to create an exceptional menu making the most of this fabulous food producing area of SW England.
Dishes will incorporate local crab, sea purslane and marsh samphire, Dexter beef, Creedy Carver duck from Crediton, and seasonal fruit and vegetables, including the Tamar Valley strawberries that made last summer’s event so memorable. The five-course tasting menu will cost £49.95 per person.
Guests who would like to completely relax, and avoid arguments over who drives, can book Pentillie’s luxury B&B accommodation for the night with 15% discount off normal rates.
