The enjoyment of going to a good restaurant and having a great experience is something to relish, good food is essential needless to say, as is good service, but to keep going back somewhere the venue needs to have that ‘something special’. Defining that something special and delivering it is a challenge.
My own favourite restaurant is local, which helps I guess as visiting is easy and you often bump into people you know.
The most important aspect of returning to a venue is consistency, knowing what to expect and it being delivered. On this basis the odd McDonald’s always goes down well and Pizza Express seldom lets you down.
La Piazzetta is a family run Italian restaurant in Virginia Water’s Station Parade and is my favourite restaurant for the following reasons…
Although almost always busy and not being a big restaurant there is somehow always a table.
You are always warmly welcomed but not fussed over.
The food is always great, a wide variety of menu options, new specials frequently offered and a very honest house red.
The service is excellent and overall the restaurant is extremely good value.
La Piazzetta has recently undergone refurbishment, the old look and feel was simple and rustic, the new is contemporary and fresh, the atmosphere and feel has remained thankfully, relaxed and easy going.
Due to its location, on the edge of the Wentworth Estate and frequented by some famous golfers, locals have no shortage of good restaurant options within close range. The fact that La Piazzetta is busier than most speaks for itself.
It does not have any Michelin stars, what it does have is simple good food, great service and consistency, a winning recipe in my book.
