Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant empire faces a sexual discrimination lawsuit by a former director of one of his firms. The TV chef is allegedly being sued by accountant Sara Stewart, who is also claiming unfair dismissal.
Reports in various newspapers say that Stewart, will include allegations in her case against Ramsay that she was sacked as she was about to blow the whistle about the chef’s crisis hit company.
Sara Stewart could be in line for a payout of £76,500, the cap at which unfair dismissal payouts is set according to various sources.
But there is no cash limit on her other claims which means she could receive a even bigger compensation payout.
The widow hit the headlines last November when she was snapped waking hand in hand with Ramsay’s father in law Chris Hutcheson, although there was no suggestion the pair were anything other than friends.
Hutcheson, who was chief executive officer of Gordon Ramsay Holdings, was sacked last year amid allegations he borrowed nearly £1.75million in personal loans from the company.
Stewart was director of subsidiary Gordon Ramsay Interactive Limited and had a 2.5 percent stake in the controlling company Gordon Ramsay Holdings.
She is believed to have lost her job around the same time as Hutcheson.
A spokesman for the company said: ‘We dispute the claims and will defend our position.’
