Acting on behalf of the Salt family, Christie + Co has sold the freehold of the Grange Moor Hotel in Maidstone, Kent, to the Gibbons family, for an undisclosed sum, off an asking price of £2.95 million.
Located within easy walking distance of the town centre, the 50 en suite-bedroom Grange Moor is a 3-Star hotel comprising a restaurant and bar; and three function rooms, including the Grange Suite, which has capacity for 200 with its own private bar and dance floor.
A popular venue for weddings, conferences and functions, the hotel also features attractive landscaped gardens and ample private parking.
The Salt family, who have owned the Grange Moor for over 30 years, decided to sell the business due to retirement.
New owner Hsaio Gibbons, who has many years experience within the hospitality industry having owned a previous hotel in Bristol, will run the business with her son Lawrence and daughter Chantelle, whilst two of the family members/directors from the previous ownership have agreed to stay on for a few months in a consultancy capacity.
Matthew Smith, Associate Director at Christie + Co, said: “The Grange Moor enjoys a well-deserved reputation in the region appealing to both commercial and leisure guests. We wish the Gibbons continued success with this established and popular business.”
