The boss of Clapham House, the company behind Gourmet Burger Kitchen and The Real Greek, which was sold to its close rival Nando’s, has quit and is setting up a fund investing in new restaurants.

Paul Campbell resigned as the chief executive of Clapham House on Friday after selling the company for £30.4m in September to the peri-peri chicken chain and its private equity owner Capricorn Ventures International.

Mr Campbell, who co-founded Clapham House seven years ago, is setting up Hill Capital, an investment and advisory fund which will put money primarily into early-stage restaurants.
