Held in London, the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards saw the group claim the Gold prize, against stiff competition from across the country, for their ‘Hotels with personality’ brand launch earlier this year.

The campaign was the first of its kind as they launched their new strapline with the groups first ever TV advert featuring the staff in the hotels. The campaign also saw the centre of five British cities being transformed into ‘Britain’s got personality’ as their roadshow rolled into town.

Keith Pope, Director of Best Western said: “We are delighted to have won this award. The campaign was hard work and the whole team gave it their all to ensure it was a massive success. It’s great that the MIMA have recognised this by giving us the Gold award.”

Over 290 people attended the awards ceremony with organisers claiming that the quality of this years entries being higher than ever. However the judges were unanimous in their decision to crown Best Western with the top ‘Gold’ prize.

When presenting the award MIMA said; “Best Western had very clear objectives with measurability built in at the outset. The target audience was clearly defined, specific in terms of age demographic and clearly understood. The collateral demonstrated Best Western’s diverse character whilst still maintaining a clear brand message and a broad spectrum of media was used across the campaign”

The team are also shortlisted for a number of other awards in the next few weeks including the PRCA PRide Awards in Yorkshire and the North West.
