£2,000 raised through sales at the Great British Beer Festival
London brewer, Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., has presented a cheque for £2,138.40 to The Royal British Legion for money raised at this year’s Great British Beer Festival.
The amount was raised through sales of the exclusive Brewer’s Reserve No.2 oak-aged ale, which was made available in cask for visitors to the festival which took place at Earl’s Court in early August.
The Brewer’s Reserve series is normally found in bottle so its availability in cask made quite a stir at the festival, with some casks selling out in a little over 30 minutes.
Richard Fuller, Director of Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., said; “Brewer’s Reserve is an incredibly rare beer, and this second edition was matured in old Cognac barrels for a year before being released.
“When we heard that The Royal British Legion was the official charity of the Great British Beer Festival we were very keen to play our part in raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
“We provided one firkin per day of the festival, and whenever it was made available for sale, a queue very quickly formed in front of the bar.
Customers were thrilled that all proceeds were going to the Legion, a charity close to many people’s hearts.”

“To raise over £2,000 from just six barrels of beer is fantastic and I’m just disappointed I didn’t get to try any at the festival before it all sold out.”
Brewer’s Reserve No.2, which is 7.2% ABV, is now available to buy in 500ml bottles from the Fuller’s Brewery Shop, in selected Fuller’s pubs and online at fullers.co.uk
